The Sepehr well drilling contract was concluded between the National Iranian Oil Exploration Management Company and the Saman Project-Based Company, and was the first contract awarded to the Saman Project-Based Company. The drilling operation of this well started at the end of March 2011 in Jafir oil field in the north of Dezful city. This contract was in the form of daily rent of drilling rig of Saman project-oriented company. Sepehr I well was an exploratory well that was drilled vertically to a depth of 4577 meters in 465 days. This well was tested in the Upper-Lower Fahlian, Ilam and Sarvak constructions to determine its availability of oil and gas.
