Gas power plants

Gas power plants have special applications. Gas power plants are suitable for peak hours due to their high speed in startup. A gas power plant is a power plant that operates on the basis of the gas cycle (Brighton cycle); It is a thermal cycle, meaning that the fluid is the working agent of a gas. (Transmits and converts gaseous energy, for example air)

This very simple power plant consists of a gas turbine and its accessories and generally consists of three main parts: the compressor, the combustion chamber and the turbine. The compressor sucks and compresses the outside air, then this hot compressed air enters the combustion chamber and heats up. Condensed hot burnt gas enters the turbine and expands, eventually leaving the turbine. Construction of thermal power plants, including gas units, is one of the most important activities of Development Company Three. Development Company 3 has built a total of 6 power plants of this type with capacities of 30 to 1000 MW (5 gas power plants in the country and one gas power plant in Oman), all of which are in operation.

In order to improve efficiency and increase productivity, the acquisition of Class F turbines, which has a history of more than 20 years in the world and in the late twentieth century, was able to acquire half of the share of equipping new power plants in developed countries in recent years. It has been considered in Iran. The SGT5-4000F turbine is one of the most advanced and reliable F-class gas turbines in the world, which in ISO conditions has the capacity to produce 307 MW with a thermal efficiency of 40.1%. The development company is proud to build the first such power plant in Bandar Abbas. The company also has four combined cycle power plants of the same type under construction.
